Veggie Cookies

Rain is not exactly one of Preston’s favorite things in the world. It kept him from going outside all day today. To cheer Preston up, Mommy baked some yummy veggie cookies.

When finish the last batch, place all the baked cookies back to the oven. Turn off oven and crack oven door open. Let the biscuits slowly cool and thoroughly dry out.

Daddy and Mommy can centainly picture Preston with an expression like that.

Bark in the park

Preston attended “Bark in the Park 2007” in Naglee Park, San Jose. There were over a thousand dogs attending.
Preston has never seen so many doggies before.

Preston entered the silly trick contest. Mommy was trying to get him to do the nike ball trick (one of the seven golf balls is Nike, Preston has to pick the Nike ball out and drop it in the box) Not only did he fail to do the trick, he was running around on the stage and completely ignoring Mommy (while hundreds of people were watching…) Mommy had to have little “talk” with Preston when we got home.

Preston met his look-a-like Maverick who was also one of Chelle’s puppies.

E-collar

Preston’s paw is healing well. The ripped nail has started to grow back. The road to recovery was a little bumpy at the beginning because Preston kept chewing on his injured paw. Daddy and Mommy had given him an ultimatum that if he did not stop chewing, he would be forced to wear an E-collar! Preston did not take the warning seriously so Daddy and Mommy had no choice but to put an E-collar on him.

“uhh…How on the earth did you manage to chew off your bandage with an E-collar on, Preston??”
Daddy came home and found the evidence stuck on his teeth.

Baker Beach

Preston recovered from his wart treatment quickly. Daddy and Mommy took him to Baker Beach this weekend. He was able to enjoy the soft sandy beach without hurting his injured paw. He had tons of fun!

Surgery Day

It has been three months since Preston’s puppy warts started. The first wart on his tongue has grown out of control and started spreading to other parts of his oral cavity. Preston hasn’t been able to go near other dogs for THREE long months. Daddy and Mommy couldn’t wait any longer for the warts to disappear on their own and decided to have them removed. Hopefully the procedures (electrocautery + cryotherapy) will stimuate his immune system and he will recovery quickly and be wart-free again!

Preston was still a little groggy when he got home from the hospital.

Mommy made a diagram to show the doctor where the warts were. They were everywhere in his mouth!

10/20/2007 update: The surgery did not remove all of his warts. This was expected because there was just no way to get rid of all! Initially we were worried that the remaining warts would quickly grow bigger and start spreading. We might have to take him back for another sugery in few months. We kept our fingers crossed and hoped his immue response would kick in after the sugery. Luckily, it did!! Few days after the sugery, we noticed the remaining warts were getting smaller and some even gone. Two weeks after the surgery, we couldn’t find any warts in his mouth. Our vet prescribed 250mg L-Lysine (common supplement for humen) twice a day for 30 days. Maybe that helped also. We were so happy that Preston is wart-free!!

Preston spent a weekend in Lake Tahoe. Here are some highlights of the trip.
