Color Blind?

Nahhh… Not Preston!

“Puff Fish” is one of Preston’s favorite stuffies.

FYI:
According to Dr. Dana K. Vaughan, Dogs are “color-limited”, not “color-blind”. “dogs do see color, but in a more limited range than that seen by normal humans, who see the rainbow of colors described by “VIBGYOR”: Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red (plus hundreds of variations on these shades). Instead, dogs see “VIBYYYR” (Violet, Indigo, Blue, Yellow, Yellow, Yellow, and Red).”
So it is not surprising that Preston can tell his Blue, Pink and Yellow Puff Fish!

Preston, you’re the smartest dog I know! You’re even smarter than the dogs on those animal talent TV shows!

    Hey Mister P.,

We don’t even know what a Puff Fish is much less what color they are !!!!

We saw a telephone that’s about your height. Give us a call in Texas sometime. Wonder if that’s long distance from California ??

  7. Preston you are one smart Puggle!!! I can’t believe you know your colors! The only color I know is “white” because I have one white paw, and mommy either asks me for “paw” or “white paw”……I will have to learn more like you!!

    Hugs, Bruschi the Puggle

  8. Peanut says:

Preston; You are such a smartie! I do not know my colors yet. I love your puff fish. They are cute, but of course, not as cute as you!! XOXO Peanut

  9. Preston, you are inspiring! Everything I read about on your website I want to try for Sophie and this is no different. Fascinating! I had always thought dogs all just saw in black & white!

Sophie has learned certain words now like ‘Baby’ (this is one of her toys) ‘Ball’ (though she has many) and ‘Monkey’ (a squeaky toy). I’ve tried to figure out your mommy’s approach to teaching you this and I think that I’ve got it. It’s all about identifying and consistency.

Preston, you really are an inspiration!

Hi..Preston..I just told my Mama that I want 3 fish just like yours for my birthday. I want to learn my colors too..I am almost 4 now and it is past time. She just shook her head and told me that we would do better with 3 different colored kongs…She is right. I just cannot seem to help myself…I just have to rescue those squeak squeaks..poor little things would just suffocate in there if I didn’t. I am such a thoughtful boy..Don’t you think? You keep on giving us Puggles a good name Preston. I am proud to call you my Puggle Buddy…Blade
