Long before going to Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Jo’s wedding in New Hampshire this weekend, Mommy and Daddy started worrying about who was going to take care of Preston when they were away from their new home. Since Preston was still adjusting to the new home, Mommy and Daddy thought it would be a good idea if he went to a boarding kennel where he could hang out with other doggies as opposed to staying at home with a pet sitter. In the search for the best boarding kennels in Houston, Rover Oaks Pet Resort’s great customer reviews stood out the most. Mommy and Daddy made a visit and were given a tour of the facility. They were very pleased with what they saw and immediately booked a luxury suite for Preston (since it was Preston’s first time staying in a kennel, Mommy and Daddy wanted him to have a cozier room that feels like home. Next time, they are putting him in a standard room called “Bunkhouse” to toughen him up!). The luxury suites were so popular that Preston had to be on the wait list until a cancellation came up.
There are different packages including some extra services to go with the lodging. Preston got the package with the most playtimes (3 hours in the morning, 3 hours in the afternoon) that would hopefully tire him out.

Preston stayed three nights at Rover Oaks. Mommy and Dadddy missed Preston so dearly over the weekend that they showed up at the door to pick him up as soon as Rover Oaks opened at 7am on Monday.
Mommy and Daddy made a special request to see Preston in his room and take some pictures. Preston was surprised to see Mommy and Daddy and looked a little confused.
He must have told the staff at Rover Oaks that he misses his best friends in California, Mina and Milo the Westies, so they gave him a room with the Westie theme.
Once Preston realized he got to go home with Mommy and Daddy, he was beside himself with excitement. (warning: you might want to turn down the volume of your speakers first)

Wow, Preston – that IS luxury!! What a gorgeous pet hotel to stay at – you lucky pup! Quite right that your humans booked you the suite – my humans would have too. (I wonder if they would have had a suite big enough for me – those looked a bit – er – “snug” for my big, long body, I think! 😛 )
I feel so terrible, Preston, that I haven’t visited you in ages! My human’s been crazily busy and we’ve been having lots of computer problems so I haven’t been able to visit my blog friends at all! Anyway, I hope I can get back to normal now.

Oh Preston! That was so sweet! My Mama’s eyes welled up in tears too! You were so happy to see your Mommy and Daddy! So sweet! You did look a little confused at first, but when your curly tail wagged, we knew you recognized the most important people in your life!
I hope my parents can find something as good as Rover Oaks here in Austin because I might need to go to a pet hotel in October. Its because Uncle Gary is getting married in Vegas, and no doggies are allowed. 🙁 I’m a little nervous, but my Mama is really nervous because it will be my first time at a boarding/kennel/hotel as well. I hope I will get a suite as nice as yours with that much playtime! I hope you were able to make a new friend while you were there!

Ooo la la preston! That sure is staying in style! Mommy left the volume on and when you started to cry/bark I flipped out!! I remembered you and was looking all around the computer to find you!! Aww! Preston you made human Granny tear up. You were so Happy to see your Mommy and Daddy. It sure was a nice place you stayed. Human Granny has already checked out a few Resorts here in Chicago and the surrounding area for me, just in case. But I’m sure that she will not leave me long. At least I hope not…Snicker! Snicker!

My mom loved listening to how happy you were to go home with your Mommy and Daddy! Mom goes on lots of business trips lately and this is how I sound when she comes home from a trip, even though I’ve been hanging out with Dad all week.

Oh my goodness I actually teared up. He just looked so scared and confused. All the luxary in the world could not replace his mommy and daddy. It looked like he was saying I thought you had left me, thank GOD! I missed you so much! He missed his family. How sweet!
