Limping puggle

No dog park for Preston this week.
Preston got back from the slumber party last weekend with a limping hind leg. He and Milo had way too much fun. According to Auntie Rebekah, the two of them “played like there was no tomorrow!”
Mommy couldn’t figure out what was wrong with Preston’s leg. He didn’t seem to be in pain when Mommy examined his paw and leg but wouldn’t put weight on his right hind leg.
According to Dr. Eric Barchas, it could be “soft tissue trauma”. The best treatment is rest. This gives the affected joint or muscle time to heal. So Preston was put on bed rest for two days. This meant no running, playing or even walking!
The doctor was right! Preston recovered quickly and was back to normal on the third day.

    Preston Brah,
No dog park? Mega bummer. But at least your OK now.
Maybe it’s time to train on the puggle “Wii Fit” a little harder.
(That top picture looks like you stepped in a big wad of bubble gum.)

Hi Preston; It’s awful missing out on the dog park. That is one of my favorite things to do. Bed rest is good though too and it sounds like it was the perfect prescription for you! Glad your leg is better! XOXO Peanut

Sorry you hurt your leg…I hurt mine too once and my daddy had to carry me around for a week. 🙁 Glad you are feeling better!!

  8. Oh no Preston! That must have been some serious playing for you to get injured! Glad to hear that you are feeling much better now and can get back to playing! Although, that comforter sure does look super comfy! I’d milk the injury a little longer if I were you….BOL!

  10. You and Mitch are in the same boat, Preston! We came home from Barktoberfest Sunday and he started limping! Too much fun for one day! If he’s not better tomorrow mom is taking him in to see the vet!
We’re glad you’re back to normal!

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch

Sorry to hear that. You are one party maniac! I am glad you are fully recovered now. Your mommy is smart. She did research and could even put you in a bed rest. 🙂

    Big hugs,

Hi Preston! Glad you feel better so soon! I don’t know how mommy got you to rest off that paw…I would never sit still long enough for my mom! My mom and boy love reading your daily antics Preston!

  13. Poor Preston! I’m glad you’re feeling better. I’m glad your vet & mommy are so smart and make sure you got better fast! Going too long without playing is no fun at all.

  14. Kylie says:

Preston! You have to learn to ration your playing! If you over do it too fast then you get cut off cold turkey! mmmm turkey…

Glad to hear you are not limping anymore. Be sure to walk gingerly for a couple more days, you’ll probably get more treats cause they will feel bad for you!

  15. […] First it was Milo, then Preston and now Milo’s sister, Mina, is also limping. Mina’s mommy found a dime-size lump on her knee. The X-tray shows calcium deposit on her joint. According to the vet, it might be caused by a previously undetected injury that did not heal properly. Both the specialist and radiologist they saw did not recommend a surgery so Mina will have to live with it. The limping comes and goes but poor Mina has to be refrained from one of her favorite things to do, chasing the sequirrels, for some time. Mina’s mommy is adding glucosamine supplement to her diet. It is not going to make the calcium lump go away but might help her joints in the long run. 500mg/day is a safe dosage recommended by the vet (for 20lb Mina). Preston will be getting glucosamine too! Best wishes to Mina! […]
