La belle ville de Québec

Immediately after Preston came home from his sitter, Catherine, Mommy started packing Preston’s travel bag again but this time he got to go on the trip with Mommy and Daddy!
Preston may never visit Europe so Québec City is probably the closest for him to get a taste of Europe.
It is a long drive from Boston (7 hours!). Preston stopped in NH and played in the spring snow.

Preston stayed at the very charming and dog-friendly Hotel du Vieux Québec. The hotel even allows quiet dogs to stay in the room by themself but of course, that is NOT Preston…

Time before Preston

Bringing home a four-legged kid and being able to provide them the attention and TLC they need is a HUGE commitment. Mommy and Daddy waited more than 10 years before they felt they were ready. They are glad that they did.
The waiting wasn’t easy. During the years when they were longing for a dog, Mommy and Daddy brought home these “substitutes” to keep them company. Now that they have Preston, it doesn’t mean they forget about their other dogs…

Silly Face
One of the biggest challenges Mommy and Daddy face as dog owners is going on a trip without Preston. When living in California, Preston used to spend time with Uncle Allen or Mina & Milo when Mommy and Daddy were out of town. It wasn’t until they moved to Boston did they realize how hard it is to find a perfect sitter.
Just as Mommy was very worried and frustrated, Mommy’s friend Leesteffy (an awesome dog walker!) came to the rescue and found Preston that perfect someone, Catherine, who takes Preston to work with her (in a nice big house with a friendly dog!) and even let Preston sleep on her bed with her (yes, under the covers!). How great is that!
Mommy and Daddy are going on a trip without Preston again this week. As soon as Mommy took out Preston’s travel bag, he started whimpering.
After Mommy finished packing and set the bag down, Preston immediately started unpacking…

Maine Coast

There are not many 70 degree days in New England this time of the year so when the weather was this nice on Saturday, Mommy and Daddy couldn’t pass up the chance taking Preston to the beach. Mommy and Daddy drove along the scenic Maine coast and visited Portland, Maine.

Cross-country Skiing

Mommy and Daddy enjoy downhill skiing but always feel sad that they can’t take Preston along. This weekend Mommy and Daddy decided to try cross-country skiing where Preston can enjoy some skiing fun too.
Preston went to Bretton Woods Nordic Center located in the beautiful Mt. Washington Resort in New Hampshire. There are designated trails for skiers with dogs.
It is a gorgeous day for skiing!

Winter Wardrobe

Preston has a nice winter wardrobe that keeps him warm and cozy all winter long.

Moo Tubes

Moo tubes are by far the weirdest looking treats Mommy has gotten for Preston. These dried beef trachea are not as hard as rawhide so the risk of teeth cracking is lower but they are tough enough to give Preston plenty of chewing pleasure.
Mommy ALWAYS supervises Preston when giving him chew treats like moo tubes, bully sticks, rawhide or pig ears. Hope everyone does too. Mommy can’t stress enough how important this is!!

Mommy and Daddy just love to see how focus Preston is when working on his moo tube.

FYI: Mommy likes to order Preston’s moo tubes and bully sticks from thebestbullysticks.com. For some reason, the bully sticks from them are not as stinky as the ones from other places (if your bully sticks have strong odor, place them in the 180F oven and bake for 3 hrs or longer. This will remove some of the moisture that causes the smell.)

Collar, collar & more collars

Mommy is a collar junkie so Preston has a growing collection of collars.

For going to the dog park and swimming, Preston needs a rugged and waterproof collar. He wears his Dublin Dog collar.

FYI: Mommy likes to order Preston’s collars from The Mod Dog. The Mod Dog offers a wide selection of custom-made collars at great prices and excellent quality.

Merry Christmas!!

Photobooks

Over the past three and half years, Mommy and Daddy took thousands of pictures of Preston. Instead of storing those precious moments in the computer, they made not one but two photobooks. It took Mommy and Daddy a couple of months to complete the project. The books arrived and made the best holiday presents they got for themselves and Preston!
The first photobook is titled “Preston!” It contains almost five hundred pictures taken since Preston’s first day home.

The second one is a smaller book (8 x 10 in, 76 pages) titled “P for Puggle”. It is a collection of artsier pictures of Preston.

FYI: Both photobooks were designed with Blurb’s BookSmart® software and ordered from www.blurb.com. We went with hardcover and premium paper and are satisfied with the print and binding quality.
Anyone intrested can view excerpts from the books at P for Puggle and Preston!.
